Over the past decade, Puglia’s high-end tourism and destination wedding segment has seen a fivefold increase in arrivals from the United States. In 2025, the U.S. ranked as the region’s third-largest international market, following France and Germany—an achievement that reflects not only strong growth in numbers but, above all, a solid competitive position in long-haul, high-spending markets.
The commitment of the Regional Tourism Agency and ENIT to promoting the luxury and destination wedding sectors is confirmed by PWD – Puglia Wedding Destination, a B2B workshop that held its second edition last January. The event brought together 30 North American buyers and 22 Apulian suppliers in New York City at The New York Times Building, as part of a joint initiative by Regione Puglia, ENIT, Aeroporti di Puglia and Confindustria Puglia. Starting next May, two major international carriers will operate six weekly flights from JFK and Newark to Bari, further underscoring the destination’s growing appeal among North American travelers.
